Gerald grew up in Kansas City, meeting his wife at Kansas State University and becoming part of the Curtis family. He built his practice in the employee benefits field working for two financial services institutions. Tom invited him to join forces in the formation of Curtis & Associates. Two decades later the ownership and management of the firm has passed from Tom to Gerald and Jeff.

Because so many family businesses are in a stage of ownership transition - within the family or with outsiders - there are many war stories to share and mutual appreciation of the challenges of multigenerational firms. When Gerald isn't at the office he enjoys fishing at the lake, doing projects with his son, playing with his grandchildren, going to concerts and spending time with his family.
